Not only does right now mark the day that I finally have a chance to blog... but it marks the first time in two weeks I had time to sit, just sit.
Craziness. Stress. Overwhelmed. Excited. Busy.... these past two weeks have all of those and more.
But I made it to Friday! So THAT is the good news!
Between all of this maddness, I haven't had much time to cook. And honestly, I have been living off of stuffed peppers and zucchini boats for the last couple of weeks... but they still seem to taste oh so yummy each and every time, so really I have no complaints :)
I am still in the process of figuring out how my meals are going to work around school... I know third week in and you would think I had it all figured out... right? But not quite yet. Lately, I have been packing oatmeal packs and getting hot water from the coffee shop on campus to make a little cup of oatmeal in class. The looks I get from people are priceless, but hot oatmeal in a overly air conditioned classroom does the trick!
Other snacks I found I like are:
- Jicama
- cucumbers
- carrot sticks
- protein shakes
- hard boiled egg whites
They have seemed keep my tummy happy till I finally make it home to dinner time!
A not so healthy addiction: With the lack of sleep I have been getting and the long days that keep dragging on and on.... I have snuck in several diet cokes into my week. Okay... so one diet coke won't kill me I know. But I am craving the diet coke now. That will not literally kill me... but "kill me" if you get what I am saying. NO MORE DIET COKE! BAD.
Fitness. Well if you have caught on to my lifestyle at all... you know that despite being tired or busy or overwhelmed.... I make time for the gym. So yes... they gym has seen me everyday for the usual routine and workout :)
Why do I do it?
1. What will an hour more of sleep REALLY do for me?
2. It helps my stress level.
3. It gives me an hour or so of distraction.
4. It WAKES me up!
and 5. My body is happy. And when my body is happy so am I :)
All I have to say is
THANK GOODNESS it is FRIDAYYY!!!!
I have the weekend ahead to relax, get work done, and spend time with my NEW SISTERS!!!!
