Did three days already go by....?
Darn.
But there isn't much to complain about when the weekend I did get to spend at home was amazing and exactly how I would have wanted it (minus missing the game obviously... but I am still trying to forget it ever happened).
This morning I got up around 6:30am, and decided that I would take advantage of the gorgeous Colorado nature and go for a run outside. Yesterday it was almost 70 degrees, so I got dressed in my spandex put a light sweatshirt on, ate a quick half of a banana and step outside to get the run started.
Brrrrrr.... okay... It isn't 70 degrees outside at 6:45am, let me tell you! So I turned back around and went and got a pair of sweatpants from soccer when I was... probably 14. Just picture the high waters... yeah... it was cute! But what the heck, who is up at 6:45am driving around on a Saturday morning that would judge me right?
So off I went... ran a 2 mile trail around my neighborhood, with the sun slowly coming up on the east side. It may have been freezing, my ears ringing, and my legs numb, but it was still a beautiful morning. No complaints. After my 2 mile trail run, I decided to add a little interval training into my work out and headed down to the school track close by. I did a mile interval sprints, stopped for my 15-min ab routine, and ended with a mile cool down jog. Was a quieter work out today, but after I came home and my body thawed out, I felt pretty darn good!
My grandparents came and got my around 10am to go get some breakfast at the Egg and I. Delicious. An eggwhite omelet with spinach, onion, mushroom, and tomato with a side of fruit. A perfect meal to start the day! And of course, it is always nice to catch up with the grandparents! I am grateful to have such a good relationship with both sides of my family. Something I know not everyone gets to experience, so I would have to say I am one pretty darn lucky girl :)
Came home after, and had a little down time before my mom was coming to get me to go to my cousins hockey game around 2:15. Just hung around and got some stuff done that I wanted to do. Before I left for the game, I finished my salad from last night. Another delicious meal!
I am so spoiled at home.... that when I get back to school reality is going to kick in when I look at my empty cupboard!
Tonight is our birthday dinner for my Dad. He turns the big 48 on Monday! Ahhh... Pops is getting old! But I am excited to have a nice dinner with "D" and my brothers... a good way to end my quick trip home :)
